Side events will be scheduled throughout the duration of COP22 in parallel to the formal negotiations.  These events aim to deepen the thinking, strengthen the debate, present best practices, develop partnerships and advocacy, as well as formulate proposals, promote knowledge sharing and consolidate or launch initiatives in favor of our climate.

The Side Events pole reports to the COP22 Steering Committee and was mandated to facilitate the organization of these events in conjunction with the other poles of the COP22 Steering Committee and the UNFCCC Secretariat.

All organizations, companies and networks that wish to organize a side event during COPP22 are invited to prepare and submit a registration formSide events will be scheduled throughout the duration of COP22 in parallel to the formal negotiations.  These events aim to deepen the thinking, strengthen the debate, present best practices, develop partnerships and advocacy, as well as formulate proposals, promote knowledge sharing and consolidate or launch initiatives in favor of our climate.
In addition to the side events that will be organized by the UNFCCC Secretariat, Morocco as COP22 Host Country provides areas that will host additional side events requested by government institutions, NGOs and businesses throughout the entire period of COP22 (November 7-18).

Two venues within the COP22 Village will be dedicated to host these events. An area in the Green Zone (Innovation and Civil Society area) and the Moroccan Pavilion in the Blue Zone. Other locations in the city of Marrakech can also be used to organize additional COP22 side events.
All organizations, companies and networks that wish to organize a side event during COPP22 are invited to prepare and submit a registration form.

Thematic days in the Green Zone

The Side Events program in the Green Zone is organized according to thematic days. The calendar of the thematic days has been established in coherence with the Global Climate Action agenda and the UNFCCC Actors days.

The Side Events in the Green Zone will take place in the area located between the Civil Society and Innovation zones. Nine rooms will be made available by Morocco, COP22 Host country.
